Ray Shore has been an amateur astronomer since 1985. He has belonged to a couple of different astronomy organizations and has participated in several events over the years including star parties, public observatory nights, school science presentations, etc. He started into astrophotography just before the Mars opposition of 2003 and has been hooked ever since! Now he’s building an astrophotography album on his personal website (Ray Shore’s Astronomy & Astrophotography Site) with images of the planets, deep space objects, the moon, sun, etc. Astrophotography has been a very exciting and rewarding pastime for Ray!
Ray developed his personal website to share his interest in astronomy and astrophotography with others. He provides useful content such as his astrophotography album, remote astrophotography setup, imaging tutorials, and much more.
His tutorials include “Webcam Astrophotography Tutorial for Planets” and “Digital SLR Astrophotography Tutorial“. His work is based on his experience in webcam and DSLR astrophotography.
Outside of astrophotography, Ray is a Product Development Engineer for a large telecommunications company. He’s been married for over 20 years and has 2 kids and 1 dog. They live in a small town in north-eastern Kansas.
