David, you will probably make a series of short videos. Start the video and let the planet drift across the screen then stop it before it reaches the edge. At f/20, it will likely be a video under 10 seconds. You can combine a few of these videos in Registax and allow it to track. I have seen some pretty good results with this method. Planetary astrophotography with a Dob is a lot of work, but it can be done.

How long of videos should I record with a DOB?
Should I record and let the planet go across the screen, then do it all over? Or should I try to adjust the DOB while recording?
Or should I take still shots with my webcam then stack them?

Charlie- right, the Toucam is out of production but the replacement appears to be a Philips SPC900NC. If I'm not mistaken, this one has the same sensor chip as the Toucam 840K which is good for planetary astrophotography. Congrats on your new scope and good luck on your imaging!!

Very helpful tutorial, I'm glad I found it. I just bought a new Celestron C10-NGT and I wanted to dabble a bit in webcam astrophotography. Looks like I'll be using a Logitech Quickcam 4000 or 5000 though, the Philips Toucam series seems to be long out of production.

Thanks Eric. I hope everything is going well with Registax. Sure, I can do a tutorial on using Photoshop for astrophotography. I'll try to work on it this week. Let us know how Saturn goes for you! Ray
